In Australia we are constantly battling against various pests entering our homes such as spiders, ants, bed bugs, termites, rodents and cockroaches. It can feel impossible to get things back in order and create a pest free environment for your family. It is good to understand why follow up treatments are the best way to rid your house of pests.

Not only can some pests be dangerous or cause serious health risks, they also can cost you money when not properly treated. Some treatments can appear to have helped only to find the pest to return with a vengeance and even the best pest controller can find challenges when treating particular infestations.

We get these unwanted guests for a number of reasons but the biggest reason is we create the favourable environment in which they prefer.

All creatures like to find the best environment to grow and reproduce. They will seek out shelter that is close to food and water and warmth, which is why our homes are the perfect place to live.

There are so many options from the DYI solutions, hardware store pesticides, biological treatments, chemical free, bait traps, soapy water, cleaning products, the lists of things to try goes on and on.

You can try just one or all of them and the pests can just keep coming back. This is when the real problem can start as with these pests comes health risks, disease or building damages which can costs thousands.

The last option sometimes is the finally call a professional Pest Control company to get rid of them once and for all. However even then they went for awhile but keep coming back.

Even though there are so many options to treat pests around your property, without a professionally trained pest controller the problems are likely to continue.

The main reason to call a pest controller is because they are able to identify the stage of their development and know which treatment will best target the pest and eliminate the problem. A pest controller doesn’t just help protect your home from damage but the health of your family.

However, by just having the pest controller call around just once will not get rid of your problems altogether. Every pests main objective in life is to reproduce and just because you caught the single mouse last week doesn’t mean that you didn’t get the whole family living in your roof.

The only way to get on top of the pests in your house is to disturb their life cycle. A life cycle is the time it takes from a pest to mature after hatching from an egg and includes all the stages in-between. Majority of them go through three stages:

• Growth
• Maturation
• Reproduction

Different pest will go through a life cycle and to help treat them it is best to understand their life cycle so that you can create the proper treatment to carry out.

This is why a pest controller will recommend a follow up treatment over a few weeks to months depending on the length of the Lifecyle to help break this cycle before they reach the reproduction stage and start the process all over again.
